BC Wine Institute Marketing Report
Wines of British Columbia Soar at ProWein
Wines of Canada Pavilion was often the busiest place on the floor.
Under the Wines of Canada banner, the Wines of British Columbia were featured at ProWein 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany (March 19-21); it was the largest showing ever of Canadian wines at the show. ProWein, arguably the most important wine show in the world, welcomed more than 55,000 trade visitors and 6,200 exhibitors, including 25 Canadian wineries from British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia.
In addition to the Wines of British Columbia being featured in the Wines of Canada pavilion, Janet Dorozynski and David Lawrason facilitated two Wines of Canada masterclasses for more than 100 savvy wine buyers and media. The first class was a discovery of Canada’s remarkable reds in which attendees tasted intense, fruit-driven, fresh and structured BC VQA reds. The second class featured aromatic whites and exciting Chardonnays.
Jamie Goode provided mini-tours of the Wines of Canada Pavilion to key buyers and media.
Each day, Jamie Goode hosted a Canadian Pavilion mini-tour providing an added opportunity for key buyers and media to taste our terroir-driven wines and discover why Canadian wines are catching the world’s attention.
