Description

If you’ve ever thought Chardonnay wasn’t for you, Bordertown’s version might change your mind. This is Chardonnay made without a single day in oak barrels — no butter, no vanilla, no heavy oak influence — just the pure, expressive flavour of estate-grown Okanagan fruit speaking for itself.

The result is a wine of real brightness and clarity. Green apple, zesty lemon, fresh pineapple and ripe pear burst from the glass from the first pour. The palate is clean and vibrant, with crisp natural acidity and a refreshing finish that makes this one of the most food-versatile whites in our cellar. It’s been compared to white Burgundy in its purity of expression — fruit-forward, mineral-edged, and endlessly drinkable.

Clean, crisp, and completely honest about what it is.

Unoaked Chardonnay is one of the most food-adaptable white wines there is. It’s excellent with BC spot prawns, fresh grilled halibut, lemon herb chicken, calamari, fresh goat cheese and lighter seafood pasta. Bordertown has poured it alongside Goan fisherman’s stew at events in Vancouver — the wine’s bright acidity handles the coconut and tomato richness beautifully.

Grown on our Osoyoos estate, where long sunny days build fruit concentration and cool nights preserve the acidity that makes this wine so satisfying. 100% estate-grown, BC VQA certified, crafted by Daniel Bontorin with the minimal-intervention philosophy that defines everything we do at Bordertown.

  1. John Schreiner

The wine begins with aromas of peach and apricot. On the palate, it is a bowl of fruit – apples, peaches, nectarines – with a long refreshing finish. A textbook example of pure and intense fruit. 92.
