Description
Viognier is a grape that began as a minor blending component in the Rhône Valley of France before finding fame as a standout single-varietal wine — and the hot, dry desert conditions of Osoyoos are perfectly suited to drawing out its full, generous character.
Bordertown’s Viognier shows off white peach, pear and pineapple within a lush, weighty palate that sets it apart from lighter white wines. The aromatics are open and fruity, bursting with bright, expressive character. Rated 90 points by John Schreiner.
A white wine with the depth and presence of a premium Okanagan red.
Viognier’s richness and texture make it a natural companion to dishes that lighter whites can’t handle — cream-sauced seafood, roast chicken with tarragon, mild spiced Indian dishes like butter chicken, and stone fruit and blue cheese boards. This is a white wine to open with intention and savour slowly.
100% estate-grown from our Osoyoos vineyard. BC VQA certified. Crafted by Consulting Winemaker Daniel Bontorin, whose minimal-intervention approach lets Osoyoos’s unique terroir — Canada’s only true pocket desert — speak directly through the wine.
