Description
Pinot Noir is the most demanding variety any winemaker works with — thin-skinned, temperamental and deeply site-sensitive. Which is exactly why Bordertown sources it from vineyard sites on the slopes of Mount Boucherie in West Kelowna, a terroir well suited for producing quality Pinot Noir. The cooler microclimate of these West Kelowna slopes, with more moderate temperatures than our desert Osoyoos estate, creates the kind of elegance and complexity that Pinot Noir requires to show its best.
The result is a wine of medium profile and genuine refinement. Blackcurrant, cherry and black raspberry aromas and flavours are layered upon a silky set of well-integrated tannins. Its juicy berry character and elegant finish allow it to cover a wide range of food pairings — a versatility that Pinot Noir achieves like no other red variety. Rated 90 points by John Schreiner.
Okanagan Pinot Noir from a vineyard chosen specifically to get this wine right.
Pinot Noir’s versatility at the table is one of its great virtues. It’s BC salmon’s most elegant companion — a match that is now a genuine BC wine-country classic, for good reason. It’s also exceptional with wild mushroom pasta, duck à l’Orange, roasted beet and goat cheese salad, and works with everything from fish to lighter meats. Serve slightly cool for best results.
