For Mohan Gill and his family, the opening of Bordertown Vineyards and Estate Winery in May 2015 was the culmination of a lifetime dream. The Gills built their reputation with over 20 years of experience as growers, supplying some of the Okanagan’s best fruit to a select few wineries and winemakers. Their sun-drenched Osoyoos vineyards are the best place to grow a wide varietal of grapes and are some of the most highly regarded in British Columbia.
The Gills are known for their integrity, attention to detail and impeccable farming skills. Passionate about wine, they turned their dream into a reality by building a family-owned and operated state-of-the-art winery in the heart of Osoyoos wine country.

Bordertown wines use top 100% estate grown fruit for wines that highlight the very best of the varietals that flourish in the south Okanagan. Wines are produced by proprietor Mohan Gill, overseen by the expertise of accomplished consulting winemaker Daniel Bontorin, who is helping us develop the Bordertown style, which places an emphasis on fresh fruit flavours.
We’re nestled in the heart of Osoyoos, a border town that has long been celebrated for rich soil and brilliant sunshine. We’re a new generation winery that strives to showcase the distinct regional characters of Osoyoos fruit. We’ve made our home in Osoyoos, a winegrowing region that provides us with the diversity to grow 14 varietals in unique growing conditions. Coupled with Osoyoos’ extended days of heat and sunshine, we think we have wine growing Nirvana.
Each spring, our majestic winery comes alive with gorgeous blossoms, brilliant foliage, and the distinctive hues of individual fruits.
Our Name
Bordertown is nestled in the heart of Osoyoos, a border town that has long been celebrated for rich soil and brilliant sunshine. The surrounding barren and rocky mountains are as inviting and tranquil lake and the vibrant blue sky. The beauty is portrayed through the vibrant sky and the color of the vines. We’ve been farming fruit in Osoyoos for over 20 years, excelling at growing for other high profile producers.
The Dream is Realized
In April 2015, Mohan Gill’s dream was realized with the opening of Bordertown Vineyard and Estate Winery. We look forward to sharing the fabulous wine our vineyards have produced. Mohan leads a team of talented people at Bordertown Vineyard and Estate Winery. Celebrated winemaker Daniel Bontorinrontin leads the important business of building our reputation for wines that delight and engage. Using grapes from small lots in our vineyard, our team works towards our goal of making innovative and enjoyable wine.
The even temperatures throughout the ripening season and the many rain-free days during the growing months ensure consistently high quality fruit of intense flavour. The diversity of exposure, microclimate and soil type produces 14 very different wines lots. We believe the diversity contributes to the high quality and uniqueness of the fruit.
The Passion
With a passion for winemaking, Mohan’s vision for the winery is the creation of a wonderful tasting experience, enhanced by distinctive wines of exceptional quality that best represent the Osoyoos region.
Our winery offers a “sense of place” where we look forward to sharing with guests who want to enjoy the stunning views over a glass of wine. Behind the doors of the winery you’ll find friendly staff, a relaxed tasting room and a wide range of wines to sample.
