Description
The Bordertown Merlot Reserve is what happens when you take exceptional Osoyoos fruit, restrict the yield to build concentration, and let Consulting Winemaker Daniel Bontorin work with the very best the estate has to offer. The result earned Gold at the San Francisco International Wine Competition — one of the world’s most rigorous wine competitions — and it’s not difficult to understand why.
From special vineyard blocks on our Osoyoos estate, cropped for low yields to showcase the inherent quality of the fruit, the Reserve begins with warm, deep aromas of rhubarb and fermented plum that immediately signal you’re tasting something at a higher level. On the palate, lush and juicy plum fruit follows through with just the right amount of oak for balance and smoothness. The finish is velvety and lengthy — extraordinarily so — allowing full enjoyment to the very end.
A Reserve Merlot that earned Gold on the world stage.
This is a wine for special occasions and important dinners. Braised lamb shoulder with rosemary, beef tenderloin with bordelaise sauce, duck confit with cherry reduction, truffle pasta — these are the dishes that match the Reserve’s depth and reward the care that went into it. Alternatively, add it to your cellar and revisit in 5–8 years.
